Biography for Barbara Koos MS, LPC
Barbara is a native Texan and was born and raised in Dallas. Barbara received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UT-Dallas in 2003 and her Masters of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2008.
She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral therapy techniques with an emphasis on spiritual principles. Barbara is a Christian based counselor; however, she is also open to treating people that identify with other faiths on a spiritual level. She also specializes in providing treatment for adolescents and adults (ages 13 and up) with Bipolar Disorder and Depression.
Barbara provides counseling for a variety of issues including but not limited to; emotional issues, social issues, anxiety, grief/loss, anger and stress management, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and marital therapy
Barbara is an active alumnae member of Kappa Alpha Theta, and an active member of Saint Matthew’s Cathedral in Dallas.
Personal Areas of Interest:
Criminal justice and criminology, music, dancing, singing, aromatherapy and natural healing methods, traveling, and animals. Barbara is currently aspiring to pursue dance classes, paint, and read more books!
