I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but have lived the majority of my life here in the DFW Metroplex. Before becoming a professional counselor, I worked in the Criminal Justice System for 18 years. After working so many years in that capacity, I decided to pursue a degree in counseling. What I bring from that tenure amongst other experiences is knowledge to assist clients with substance abuse issues, critical thinking errors, domestic violence; both with the victims and the aggressors, child abuse and sex offender issues. Since graduating in 2005, I have worked in numerous work environments including: psychiatric units, intensive outpatient settings, nursing homes, assisted living communities and in-homes offering a range of counseling services including: group, individual, family, and couple counseling utilizing a diversity of therapeutic interventions both secular and Christian counseling.

I earned my Masters of Social Work degree in 2005 from the University of Arlington. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I am committed to serving clients of all ages, gender and issues. My philosophy is that counseling offers an opportunity to address issues negatively affecting your overall wellbeing and an opportunity to face those challenges in a safe and professional manner. I am here to listen, help you identify negative and/or dysfunctional thoughts and feelings, and to help you identify options that can promote change. On this journey, you will discover your own strengths, gain positive coping skills and achieve the ability to manage and overcome critical problems with the goal to promote positive change. If you are ready to experience change, and are willing to put in the work, I look forward to working with you.
